28/40mm Aggregate

Product Description

A free-draining, low-fines 28/40 mm aggregate produced from primary quarried stone (e.g., limestone/granite). Supplied to EN 13242 for unbound uses; available to EN 12620 for concrete on request. Ideal where high voids and rapid water movement are needed or where a larger nominal stone improves interlock and bearing. Quantity formula Tonnes ≈ (Length × Width × Depth in metres) × 1.6 Notes Use geotextile separators where fines migration is a risk. For pipe bedding/surround, usually specify 2/6.3 or 4/10; use 28/40 only where the design calls for it (outside surround zone or for filter layers). Check concrete mix design for maximum aggregate size and cover.
